The Mount is a magnificent 500 year old, heavily beamed house, which is steeped in history and is reputed to have been built as Lord Guldeford's summer residence. It is full of character and has some wonderful tiled flooring, rich solid oak flooring, uneven, sloping floors and wonderful nooks and crannies to discover. The carving over fireplaces and walls has been lovingly restored and much of the furnishings have been retained and restored to maintain the character and feel of this wonderful property. Located just one mile from the very popular and interesting Cinque Port of Rye and only 3 miles from Camber Sands, the beautiful old church of East Guldeford lies close by. Accessed from the other side of the road is a cycle path leading to Camber, the nature reserve at Winchelsea and Lydd and there is a wealth of good walks leading from the property.
